Spanish architect Mariana de Delás has turned a neglected stone shelter on the island of Mallorca (Spain) into a beautiful small retreat. Several of these kind of stone shelters built as refuges for hunters and shepherds to take cover or rest, and as storage for tools can be found on throughout the island’s agricultural fields. The simple local mares stone construction walls and the light ceramic + tile roofing plus the small size footprint they occupy, they range from 5 to 20sq meters, make them very recognizable across the island. This lovely home is not only stylish but is environmental friendly as well. It gets gets its power from rechargeable batteries and a solar panel. An existing well holds water that is collected from the roof and a 12-volt pump inserted in the well pumps up the water.
