A Mid Century Bungalow In A Forest In The Netherlands

This truly is a special home located at a special place in the middle of a nature reserve in The Netherlands. On a beautiful plot of over 22,000 m², nestled in the heart of the forest, unfolds a unique forest bungalow with an international character. The rural retreat is owned and designed by founders and creative directors of Amsterdam-based interior design studio Nicemakers. They discovered the bungalow in almost completely its original condition. While maintaining the traditional character of the home, they opened the space through adjustments to the layout, trying to make it even more open. This is what Nicemakers say about the design process: “The choices that were made during the design process incorporated the 1960s way of thinking about design – simplicity, functionality and clean lines. In contrast to other projects, where intense colours are often used more, the forest home incorporates a much calmer colour palette. Surrounding nature and the view of the garden had to remain the most important ‘feature’, hence the understated and natural atmosphere and colours. Making use of beautiful materials, attention to craftsmanship, special design and detailing. The atmosphere of this project creates a sense of peace, to encourage reflection and possibilities for new creative ideas.”

For those looking for a stunning home in The Netherlands there is good news: this special house is now on the market. But it may not come as a surprise that you’ll need deep pockets. You can find more information here.
