First of all I want to wish you all of you a happy new year. I hope 2020 will be filled with joy, happiness & peace! 2019 was hectic for me personally and not a very good year for several reasons. We moved house and renovated our new home (which is still an ongoing process) and this was a very stressful time. Which explains the lack of posts during the last months of the year. Also, the turmoil that is happening in the world is really affecting me. What I hope most for this new year is that more and more people start realising what a wonderful, beautiful place our planet is and that we should take good care of it by limiting our carbon footprint. Here is a helpful article from Columbia University about 35 easiest ways to reduce our carbon footprint. I hope that 2020 will be a tipping point for change.
This blog is meant to inspire you, it is not my intention to encourage you to buy more things. At the contrary, we should buy less stuff. Think before you buy (do you really need it?), make sustainable choices (no meaningless stuff and impulse buys), buy longest-lasting items in stead of cheap items that will not last long. Spend/save a bit more and buy an iron cast Le Creuset pot which will last a life time (and longer..) in stead of a cheaper pan that you need to replace next year. It is better for our earth, you’ll feel better as you are surrounded with items you really love and your house will look better as carefully collected treasures will not be lost in clutter.
This year’s first post features Tine K’s beautiful new collection. I love this Swedish brand for their use of natural materials and their style: a mixture of bohemian living, elegant simplicity and botanical living, inspired by travel and nature.
