I recently spent some quality time in ubercool Copenhagen. The Danish capital must have one of the highest concentration of design shops in the world. You can literally find design at every corner. My favorite shop is Normann in Østerbro, the eastern side of Copenhagen. This Danish company works with some of the most talented industrial designers of today to bring humor, design and quality into everyday life.
In their 1700m2 shop you can find the entire Normann Copenhagen collection as well as a large variety of contemporary lifestyle products and high profile fashion brands from around the world. Check out Normann’s interesting assortment of contemporary furniture, lighting, music, clothing, perfume and various home accessories from their own brand, Magis, Flos, Kartell, moooi, Hay Cph., B&B Italia, Victor & Rolf, to name a few.
My favorite Normann designs are: carafe “Christal” by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders (left photo), the washing-up bowl and brush by Ole Jensen (center photo) and Norm 69 (right photo), a lamp consisting of 69 pieces (no glue or tools are needed) designed by Simon Karkov. Are you not going to Copenhagen any time soon? Good news, the Normann collection is sold world-wide! Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to ask for stockists in your country.
