Not only the weather temperature is rising here in The Netherlands but my body temperature is rising (to a boiling point) as well. Why can’t companies do their job anymore? FedEx managed to loose a package that I sent to the UK some days ago. They can’t provide a tracking number (how the hell can that happen?), they do not know where the package is and they don’t phone me back as requested. One FedEx employee even had the nerves to tell me that I did not send a package at all. Basically saying that I was either a liar or a fool (sending imaginary packages). Very, very frustrating! This is the second time that I use FedEx as a courier. The previous time they delivered one package too late. So a 100% failure score for FedEx, which is quite amazing for such an established company.

This hasn’t got anything to do with design but I had to get this off my chest (and perhaps you can consider this as a warning for the next time you’re thinking about using FedEx as your courier..). Now I go outside to enjoy the beautiful weather here. I hope you all have a great weekend and I see you back on Monday!

PS: inspired by the beautiful weather some sunny images from Hotel Deseo in Mexico (images from design hotels)

I had a horrible experience with FedEx this week. They delivered THREE large boxes to me that did not belong to me. They left them at my door when I wasn’t home. They were intended for some man in my town. The boxes were from Hewlett Packard and weighed a ton so clearly computer-related equipment was inside. In other words, expensive stuff.

I called FedEx and they told me they’d come get the boxes right away. I told them the driver made a huge mistake and that they are lucky I am a very honest person.

Two days passed. No one came for the boxes.

FedEx called me on day 3 and told me that they did research on the tracking number. The packages were delivered to the right house according to the driver. He said the slip said my name and address. I read the slip to them directly from the boxes and my name was no where on the boxes. I told them the driver was incorrect. They said he was not incorrect, that these were my boxes and that if I didn’t want them I should just have refused delivery instead of making up an elaborate story.

??

Can you believe that!?

So I did some research and found the man in my town to whom the packages did belong. He was so grateful that I called. He said he was waiting for these packages. He drove to my house and picked them up because FedEx would not come get them for him.

I’ve had other bad experiences with FedEx but this one just happened this past week so I am not determined to never use them again. NEVER. Especially hearing your story too.

I hope your packages can be located. So many dishonest people in the world, if a package is delivered to the wrong house how many people would return it these days?

Wat een gezeik zeg, maar maak in de toekomst ook geen gebruik van TNT. Dat zijn net zulke prutsers. Maak er lekker een weekendje UK van ofzo, gezelliger en kost je ook veel minder tijd en frustratie ;-)

This is another absurd Fedex story Holly! Some many things wrong here: you call them with the best intentions and they are saying that you are a liar, they left the package at the wrong door but they should not leave package at door steps at all (even if it would be the right address), they did not want to correct their mistake by picking up the package and delivering it to the correct address etc. I just can believe this!

I have send (to countries all over the world) hundreds of packages with TNT and have also used DHL - I did not have a single problem with them. Two times I use FedEx and they screw up completely. I thought it might be only Fedex Netherlands but Holly’s story makes it clear that Fedex has serious problems with their core business worldwide!

I had to fire Fedex. They really bungle things up. I had a business where there was a ton of damage on Fedex shipping. It made me wonder, just what do they do with those boxes on the trucks?
