I like peaking into people’s houses! Especially if these houses belong to stylish people as Gwyneth Paltrow. Gwyneth’s new summer home in the Hamptons, USA, was recently featured in House & Garden. The actress was very involved in the design of her serene new home. “I’ve become an encyclopedia of design for my friends,” she tells House & Garden.
Top image of kitchen: The spacious kitchen is lined with cabinets by Minkoff; the striking chandeliers are from Home and Co. for Birgit Israel, London; the concrete counters, from Remik Studio, Brooklyn, NY, are punctuated with a stove from Jade Range.
Image left of foyer: The bolero chair is from Mariette Himes Gomez for Hickory Chair, upholstered in Schumacher’s Lace in Aqua; Directions’ Glam console table is topped with a découpage barnacle lamp from John Derian, NYC; the needlework art is from Ann Carrington and the wallpaper is Zoffany’s Cordoba in Gray.

Paltrow likes clean lines and cool colors; her aesthetic can be described as minimalist with a feminine twist. To establish this look, she worked with architectural designer Michael Minkoff.

I love her home. Lots of people on other blogs have said its boring, and had NOTHING good to say about her home. It think it stunning!

I don’t think this house is boring. It is just very stylish and well balanced (with not too much junk!).

I live in Umbria, the green heart of Italy. I think this house is cold and without personality. It is SAD. I would like help Gwynnie to transform her home.
