Autoban was awarded as young designers of 2005 by Wallpaper magazine. Looking at the designs of this Istanbul based architecture, interior design and product design studio, I can see why. Their furniture pieces are timeless and functional. Because of the use of natural materials, they have a Scandinavian feel. Sleepy (image above) is Autoban’s version of a rocking chair. The chair’s legs and arms are designed as one-piece. Simply gorgeous!

Inspiration for King (top row, left) is taken from a 50s classic lamp. This design is available in various colours. Bergere (top row, right) is inspired by the classical French arm chair. Table Starfish (second row, left) can be used as a dining table or as a desk. The legs of this beautiful table resembles a starfish, hence the name of the design. Book lamp (second row, right) is a bedside table and a lamp in one. It it suitable for both storing and illuminating your night time reading. Coffee table (third row, right), inspired by the ottoman, can be used both as a coffee table and a stool. Lamp Magnolia (third row, right) is made from birch plywood. It’s hexagonal plates resembles the leaves of a flower.
I spent quite some time browsing trough Autoban’s designs, and I came to the conclusion that they are all stunning. It is worth checking out their website to see their entire collection!
